Imagine being diabetic and not knowing what your blood sugar level is. This is exactly what happens to dry eye patients who are treated without tear osmolarity testing.
Tear osmolarity is a proven in-vivo laboratory test that allows our doctors to assess the severity of the ocular surface inflammation. It is included in the evaluation of dry eye disease and our patients are then able to keep track of their improvement.
We are proud to have been the first clinic in the Lower Mainland to offer this non-invasive, gold standard test. Two systems are currently available in Canada, and we currently offer both: TearLab and iPEN.
